After turning our car in at the train station in Innsbruck, Austria we’ll grab a loaf of good bread and a bottle of wine so we’ll have some dinner for our train trip to Venice. Once in Venice the first order of business will be to find lodging for the next 3 days. Lots to see. We’re looking forward to ‘Cruising the Grand Canal’, enjoying the art and culture of this incredible city. With all of the walking there will be a need to take several rest stops at the city’s classic wine bars.

When it’s time to leave Venice we’ll pick up another car and spend a day driving to Cinque Terre on the west coast. This area has a fantastic 8 mile hike along the coast and goes through several small villages. We’ll spend a couple of days hiking and exploring. Then onward south to more small villages in the Tuscany including The Leaning Tower of Pisa. Our slow drive south toward Rome will take about a week. Corey and a friend are planning to meet us in Rome where all of us will spend a few days in Sorrento area then back north to conquer Rome. From the Vatican, to the ancient ruins of Rome to the many piazza’s, 4 days will not be enough time but Corey will need to get back for another quarter of school and we need to move on to Greece.
