Viet Nam:
After several weeks of camping and experiencing the comforts of Western living in Fiji, New Zealand and Australia, we will now experience a huge cultural change. After a long flight including an overnight stopover in Singapore, we land in Saigon, Vietnam. We arrive in the late morning without any reservations, either car or hotel.
Our plans for this two week stay in Vietnam include a couple of days seeing the city in addition to a few war museums. We then will begin traveling north up the coast to Hanoi, where we should find some beautiful country side villages and great beaches. What modes of transportation we use to get to Hanoi will be an adventure in itself. We have NO plans. We’ll stop in towns and villages that look interesting and scenic. Once in Hanoi, we’ll spend a couple of days seeing the city, then off to Halong Bay to see to famous arching rock formations and stunning landscape. It’s now time to head to the airport for a flight to Thailand.
