Greece:

After more than two weeks in Italy it will be time to move on. Our plan is to take the train from Rome to Bari then hop on the overnight ferry across the Adriatic Sea to Patras, Greece. Most likely in the early morning we will take a train to Athens. We will not have any hotel reservations, so first order of business will be finding our ‘home’ for the next couple of days. We’ll want to see the main sights including the Parthenon.

After a couple of days in Athens it will be time to head to the Greek Islands. We hope to visit two of the islands, although we aren’t sure which island will be first on the list. I’m sure we won’t have a problem deciding on that first island destination after talking with some of the locals over a shot (or two) of Ouzo. A few days of enjoying different beaches will be welcomed after all of that sightseeing! We know the second (or last) island stop will be the island of Santorini since it has an airport. This week will go too quickly with all that is planned! Next stop is the land of Pyramids.
