India:

We arrive in Delhi late in the evening after a full day of flights having begun the day in Ko Sumi, Thailand. We felt that this would be a good time to bask in the luxury of an upscale Sheraton Hotel for our two days in Delhi. The city is huge and we expect to spend most of our time in the old part of the city. There will be many sites to see including the Red Fort and Jama Masjid (India’s largest mosque). Trains will be our mode of transportation in India.

Since we are only in India for a week, we will need to move quickly to Agra and visit the Taj Mahal. We expect to spend the better part of a day seeing this shire to
the second wife of the Emperor Shah Jahan who died giving birth to their fourteenth child in 1631.

Then it’s off to Jaspur for a couple days to see the Pink City. Although a week isn’t nearly enough time to see a country this size, we feel we’ll get a good feeling for the people and culture. This may even be the country where we get to ride an elephant. From Jaspur we’ll hop on a train back to Delhi and to the airport for another long flight to Vienna, Austria.
