Austria:
After spending the last 5 weeks in countries with ‘squat toilets’, monkeys, elephants, and bamboo, returning to a country with mountains, snow and real toilets will feel pretty good. After a long flight from Delhi, India to Vienna, Austria, we will pick up our rental car and begin the European segment of our adventure. The plan is to take several days to drive west through Austria to the city of Innsbruck .
Along the roads of this drive we’ll see some of the most beautiful mountains and countryside in Europe. And, of course, the Austrian chocolate and pastries’ are to die for. We also hear the local beer is pretty good too. The plan is to take our time and stop when we feel like it. We may do some snowshoeing and Mike might even go skiing for a day, weather permitting, since the only clothes we will have after the warmth of Asia will be shorts, t-shirts and sandals. We’ll return the car in Austria before taking a train to Venice, Italy.
