Since we didn’t want to carry travelers checks, we needed a way of having access to money to pay for food, lodging and the many other necessities in a quick easy way without carrying a lot of cash. The wonders of modern technology helped with the use of a debit card. Since we made reservations in advance for treks, hotels, cruises, rental cars, etc., some costs were already paid. We will also bring several credit cards for those must have purchases along the way.
